About Zypher Trading Video Games

Zypher Trading Video Games is an online video game and collectibles retailer focused on professionally refurbished video games, trading cards, and gaming nostalgia. We have grown heavily over the last few years and are continuing to build Zypher into a larger media-driven brand.

We are looking for someone creative, reliable, and comfortable being part of the content process as we grow Zypher Media, our social media and video content side of the business.

This role is perfect for someone who loves video games, social media, content creation, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram Reels, and gaming culture.

About the Role

We are looking for a Social Media Content Creator to help create weekly video content for Zypher Media.

The main focus will be short-form videos, gameplay content, gaming nostalgia, skits, behind-the-scenes content, and personality-driven videos that help grow the Zypher brand.

This role will start at around 15–25 hours per week. Once we reach the point where streaming becomes part of the weekly content plan, hours and responsibilities may adjust.

The goal right now is not perfection. The goal is consistency, personality, creativity, and building a repeatable content system that improves every week.

Weekly Content Goals

The current weekly goals are:

10 Shorts created per week
7 Shorts posted per week
2 long-form gameplay videos recorded per week

We will create more Shorts than we post so we can build a backlog/content catalog over time. That way, if something unexpected comes up, schedules get busy, or someone needs time off, Zypher Media still has content ready to go.

Short-Form Content

Shorts will usually be between 10–60 seconds long.

For each Short, the full process may include:

• Brainstorming the idea
• Recording the clip
• Editing the clip
• Adding text or titles when needed
• Final review and export

The goal is for Shorts to be quick, fun, engaging, and not overcomplicated. We want someone who can help test ideas, learn what performs, and improve content over time.

Short-form content may include:

• Gaming nostalgia
• Funny skits
• Behind-the-scenes Zypher content
• Video game facts
• Retro gaming moments
• Product/inventory highlights
• Relatable gamer content
• YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Facebook Reels

Long-Form Gameplay Content

We will also record 2 long-form gameplay videos per week.

For the time being, most of the long-form videos will be gameplay recordings. Each gameplay recording will be around 60 minutes long.

The person playing will be recorded on camera, with audio commentary throughout the gameplay. The goal is for the content to feel natural, entertaining, and personality-driven.

Editing for gameplay videos should be simple. These are not meant to become massive editing projects. The main edits would include cutting out dull parts, long pauses, or moments where nothing interesting is happening.

Responsibilities

• Create and help plan weekly short-form video ideas
• Record short-form social media videos
• Edit Shorts for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook
• Help record long-form gameplay videos
• Assist with titles, captions, thumbnails, and descriptions
• Review content performance and help improve future videos
• Participate in brainstorming and weekly content planning
• Help keep content organized and scheduled
• Bring creative ideas to the table
• Be comfortable appearing on camera when needed

Schedule / Office Hours

Office and recording hours are Monday–Friday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

The goal is to have at least 2 in-office days per week, based on what works best within that office schedule.

On in-office days, we will try to get as much done as possible, including:

• Recording Shorts
• Recording gameplay videos
• Filming skits or behind-the-scenes content
• Brainstorming ideas
• Planning upcoming content
• Editing videos
• Reviewing finished content
• Working on titles, captions, thumbnails, and descriptions
• Looking over what is performing well and what needs to be adjusted

All work for this role will be done in-office.

What We’re Looking For

Someone who is creative, dependable, and genuinely interested in content creation.

You do not need to be a massive expert, but you do need to care about making good content and improving over time.

Ideal traits:

• Comfortable on camera
• Interest in video games and gaming culture
• Good sense of humor
• Understands TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, or similar platforms
• Can edit short-form videos
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Able to take feedback without taking it personally
• Good with creative brainstorming
• Able to work independently and stay organized
• Willing to test ideas and improve based on performance

Bonus points if you have experience with:

• YouTube Shorts
• TikTok
• Instagram Reels
• Camtasia, CapCut, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut, or similar editing software
• Gaming content
• Streaming
• OBS
• Thumbnail creation
• Social media analytics

Pay

Pay will depend on experience, skill level, and overall fit.
