Social Media Content Creator (Beauty, Instagram)

At BK Beauty, we’re a creator-led beauty brand redefining what’s possible in social commerce. Known for our ultra-soft, best-selling makeup brushes and expanding lineup of innovative beauty products, we began as the passion project of professional makeup artist and YouTube creator Lisa J (@lisajmakeup) and have grown into a leading consumer brand shipping tens of thousands of orders each month.

We are a creator-led brand at our core. Content is not a support function here, it is the engine of the business.

This role is a unique opportunity to become a primary content creator, channel owner, and face of BK Beauty on Instagram. You will represent the brand on camera daily, creating content that educates, entertains, and connects with our audience.

Our content spans tutorials, product education, GRWM, trend-driven videos, and real-time social moments, while also telling the story of BK Beauty from the inside. From behind-the-scenes moments to featuring our team and day-to-day activity, we bring our brand to life in a way that feels real, personal, and engaging.

ROLE OVERVIEW

This is not a traditional social media role. This is a creator-first role.

As BK Beauty’s dedicated Instagram Content Creator, you will own our Instagram channel end-to-end. You will be the face of the brand on Instagram, creating daily content that represents BK Beauty to a large and highly engaged audience. 

You will plan, film, edit, and publish content across Reels, Stories, and Lives while staying on top of trends and consistently delivering high-performing, platform-native content.

You’ll work closely with our Social team and collaborate regularly with our founder, Lisa J, while partnering with our TikTok channel owner to bring ideas to life across platforms.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Instagram Channel Ownership

• Own BK Beauty’s Instagram channel end-to-end including content strategy, creation, publishing, and performance
• Plan and maintain a forward-looking content calendar (4–6 weeks ahead) while staying agile for real-time trends
• Publish daily content, primarily Reels, supported by consistent Stories and ongoing engagement

Content Creation (Creator-First)

• Act as a primary on-camera creator and recognizable face of BK Beauty on Instagram
• Film, edit, and publish high-quality, platform-native beauty content that reflects current trends and brand voice
• Create content across tutorials, product education, trends, and storytelling formats
• Batch content efficiently while also capturing timely, in-the-moment opportunities

Collaboration & Creative Development

• Partner closely with the TikTok Content Creator to ideate and produce cross-platform content
• Collaborate with Lisa J to create founder-led content (tutorials, product education, brand storytelling)
• Work with the Social team to align content with launches, campaigns, and key business moments

Community & Audience Connection

• Stay close to the audience through comments, DMs, and engagement patterns
• Respond and engage with the community while working alongside internal support for scale
• Monitor feedback, trends, and audience behavior to inform future content

Performance & Optimization

• Track performance across reach, engagement, and growth metrics
• Identify what’s working and iterate quickly to improve content output
• Bring new ideas, formats, and trends proactively to the team

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Proven, publicly visible track record of creating beauty content on Instagram or other social platforms
• Clear evidence of consistency in content creation and audience growth over time
• Strong on-camera presence with natural charisma, confidence, and personality
• Deep understanding of Instagram, including Reels, Stories, and content trends
• Strong creative instincts for hooks, pacing, storytelling, and what makes content perform
• Hands-on experience filming and editing short-form video (CapCut or similar tools)
• Highly self-directed with the ability to ideate, execute, and publish content quickly
• Strong taste level and passion for beauty, makeup, and the creator ecosystem
• You are already creating content consistently and have a body of work we can review

NON-NEGOTIABLES

• Must be comfortable filming themselves daily
• Must have prior beauty content experience
• Must submit portfolio and/or active social profiles
• Must demonstrate past audience growth and engagement
• Important Note: 
• This is not a personal brand-building role. This is a brand-building role. You will be creating on behalf of BK Beauty and representing the brand across our Instagram channel.

ROLE DETAILS

Location: Austin, TX (in-office, 4 days per week)

Compensation: $65,000 – $75,000 + bonus opportunity + full benefits
