Social Media + Content Designer | NYC/Westchester (Open to Other Areas for the Right Candidate)

15–20+ hours per week | $35–$40/hour Location: NYC, Westchester, or Metro New York area Contract (first 90 days) with opportunity to transition to Full-Time Start Date: ASAP

We're looking for a design-forward Social Media + Content Designer based in the NYC/Westchester area (open to other areas for the right candidate) to support day-to-day social execution across a small portfolio of brands.

This is a primarily remote role, but local candidates are required. We're looking for someone who can shoot content in NYC approximately once per month, capturing on-brand photo and video content to support our social strategy.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating clean, elevated visuals, collaborating with a small team, and turning strategic direction into polished, high-quality social assets.

What You'll Do

You'll work from established brand guidelines, content plans, and clear creative direction to execute across multiple platforms.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing on-brand static graphics in Canva using provided templates
• Assisting with light short-form video editing for Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts
• Capturing monthly content in NYC (photo + short-form video)
• Scheduling and publishing content using Later
• Supporting posting and engagement across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube
• Monitoring comments and DMs and flagging items requiring team input
• Maintaining visual consistency across platforms
• Tracking basic performance metrics
• Collaborating with the team via Asana and Slack

Who You Are

• Based in NYC, Westchester, or the greater Metro NY area
• Available for occasional in-person content shoots in NYC (approximately 1x per month)
• Experienced supporting social media for a brand or agency
• Strong in Canva with a clean, modern design aesthetic
• Comfortable with basic short-form video editing
• Familiar with Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, and YouTube best practices
• Experienced using scheduling tools such as Later
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working from clear direction
• Available part-time during U.S. business hours (Monday–Friday preferred)

Growth Path

This role will begin as a part-time contract position for the first 90 days. If it's a strong mutual fit, there is an opportunity to transition into a full-time position.
