Social Media Coordinator

Role Description

The Social Media Coordinator helps us live out this mission by creatively and strategically using digital platforms to tell stories, engage our community, and extend the reach of the Gospel online.

The Social Media Coordinator will oversee the planning, creation, and management of all content across Expansion Church’s social media channels. This role works closely with the Executive Director of Innovation and Strategy to ensure that everything shared online reflects the heart, excellence, and mission of Expansion Church.

Expectation:

This is a Full-Time (40 Hours/Week including Sundays) salaried position.

Salary Range: $40,000 – $45,000 / Year (based on experience)

  • Content planning, scheduling, and posting
  • Capturing and editing photos and videos from church services and events
  • Writing engaging captions and stories

You Will Be

  • Creating and curating engaging content (photos, videos, reels, stories, and posts) for all church social media platforms.
  • Capturing and editing media content during Sunday services and events.
  • Planning and maintaining a consistent posting calendar aligned with sermon series, events, and church initiatives.
  • Collaborating with all Creative teams to develop social campaigns and strategies.
  • Engaging with the online community—replying to messages, comments, and building relationships.
  • Monitoring insights and analytics to track performance and guide improvements.
  • Managing social media ads.
  • Maintaining a consistent and authentic brand voice that reflects Expansion Church’s culture.
  • Staying current with emerging trends, tools, and best practices in social and digital media.
  • Leading a team of volunteers that will help capture, edit and post social media content and ads.
  • Leading a team of volunteers that will communicate via Sunday Service Live Stream with guests on Youtube and Facebook.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in social media management, marketing, or communications (volunteer or professional).
  • Strong understanding of major social media platforms and current digital trends.
  • Photography and Videography skills (smartphone or camera).
  • Proficiency in content creation tools such as Canva, CapCut, or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of professional experience in social media or digital marketing (church or nonprofit experience a plus).
  • Experience with graphic design, video editing, and content planning tools.
  • Knowledge of SEO, paid social campaigns, and analytics platforms.
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello, or Planning Center).
