Your Mission

Viory is currently seeking a highly motivated and proactive Social Media Editor to join our Abu Dhabi based team.

You will have extensive experience working with social networks, a complete mastery of the multimedia landscape and a passion for viral news gathering, in a tough, crowded - but often homogenous - media market.

Viory seeks to showcase and empower voices from the Global South at an international level, providing clients with unique materials and the complete picture of global and regional affairs for their audience. Familiarity with this geographical, geopolitical, historical and developmental concept, combined with current events in and around the Global South is therefore essential for the position.

Your Main Tasks

• Proactively scout for captivating stories with high viral potential ahead of competitors
• Analyze and leverage elements contributing to virality
• Translate complex concepts into engaging, shareable content
• Craft concise, bite-sized pieces that resonate with the target audience
• Optimize content for various platforms, including Twitter, TikTok, WhatsApp
• Stay updated on trends, features, and algorithms to optimize content strategy
• Source and transform stories from diverse global channels to engage our audience
• Ensure content accuracy and authenticity through rigorous verification
• Craft compelling headlines and text to encapsulate each story's essence
• Edit and curate video clips, applying post-production techniques for maximum impact

Your Skills

To be successful at this position, we think you should to have:

• A Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, political science, or a related field is required
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere for video editing is essential
• Must be a native Arabic and English speaker
• Excellent creative and communication skills
• A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is required
