The Social Media Executive cum SEO Analyst is supposed to enhance madhyamam.com’s digital presence by managing social media platforms and optimizing content for search engines. This role involves creating engaging Malayalam content, driving audience interaction, and implementing SEO strategies to boost visibility and traffic. The ideal candidate should be fluent in Malayalam, understand Kerala’s cultural and political landscape, and excel in social media trends and SEO practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Social Media Content & Management: Create and curate content (text, images, videos, reels) for platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter (X), YouTube, WhatsApp, ShareChat, and Telegram.
• Manage accounts, ensure consistent posting, and provide timely updates for breaking news.
• Write compelling captions and CTAs to drive engagement and website traffic.
• Monitor trends and engage audiences to build community trust.SEO Optimization:
• Conduct keyword research in Malayalam and English to optimize news content.
• Enhance on-page SEO (headlines, meta tags, URLs) and collaborate with editors for content optimization.
• Implement link-building and improve site performance (e.g., load speed, mobile usability).Analytics & Campaigns:
• Track social media and SEO metrics using tools like Google Analytics, Search Console, and platform insights.
• Plan campaigns for festivals (e.g., Onam) or special stories, integrating SEO for better rankings.
• Provide data-driven reports with optimization recommendationsCollaboration & Crisis Management:
• Work with content, design, and editorial teams to create high-quality, SEO-friendly assets.
• Handle negative feedback or misinformation professionally, escalating issues as needed.
• Engage influencers to amplify reach, aligning with SEO and social goals.

Compliance:

Ensure content adheres to legal, ethical, and platform guidelines, including India’s media regulations.

Stay updated on SEO trends, Google algorithms, and social media policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

⚫ Education: Bachelor’s in Journalism, Mass Communication, or related field.

⚫ Experience: 1-3 years in social media and SEO, ideally in media or with Malayalam audiences. Experience in news media digital marketing. Knowledge of paid ads, PPC, or technical SEO (e.g., site audits).

⚫ Fluent in Malayalam (written/spoken); proficient in English.

⚫ Technical Skills: Proficient in Hootsuite, Buffer, Google Analytics, SEMrush, Yoast, or similar tools.

⚫ Basic graphic design (Canva, Photoshop); video editing (FCP, Premiere, InShot) a plus.

⚫ Familiarity with CMS

⚫ Soft Skills: Strong understanding of Kerala’s culture, storytelling, analytical skills, and ability to work under deadlines.

⚫ Knowledge of social media trends, SEO best practices, and a passion for news.
