Position Summary
The Social Media Intern supports the marketing team in developing and experimenting with emerging social media channels, with a focus on TikTok, Reddit, and other digital platforms. This role assists in researching trends, creating content, and monitoring engagement to help expand the company’s digital presence and brand awareness.
This is a hands-on learning opportunity for someone who is creative, curious, and interested in how social media, AI, and SEO are shaping modern digital marketing strategies. The role is ideal for a student who enjoys testing new ideas, staying current on platform trends, and contributing to innovative marketing initiatives.
Essential Responsibilities
Social Media Content Support
- Assist in developing and executing content strategies for platforms such as TikTok and Reddit
- Help create, schedule, and publish social media posts, including captions, hashtags, and basic visuals
- Support content brainstorming and idea generation for new campaigns and experiments
- Help maintain a content calendar and track upcoming social media initiatives
Research & Trend Monitoring
- Research social media trends, online communities, and platform features to identify content opportunities
- Monitor competitor activity and emerging digital marketing trends
- Stay current on evolving creator trends, algorithms, and platform best practices
Engagement & Performance Tracking
- Monitor engagement metrics including views, comments, and shares
- Assist in summarizing social media performance insights and trends
- Support basic reporting and documentation of campaign performance
AI & Digital Marketing Exploration
- Research AI tools and emerging technologies related to content creation, SEO, and digital marketing
- Identify opportunities where AI tools may enhance marketing workflows and experimentation
Cross-Functional Support
- Collaborate with marketing and content team members on digital campaigns
- Assist with additional marketing initiatives as needed, including research, content support, or campaign execution
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Business, or related field
- Strong interest in social media marketing and digital platforms
- Familiarity with or enthusiasm for TikTok and Reddit
- Strong written communication skills and attention to detail
- Creative thinker who enjoys experimenting with content ideas
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
- Curious about how AI is shaping marketing and content creation
Technical Skills
- Microsoft Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel
- Social media platforms (TikTok, Reddit, Instagram, etc.)
- Experience with content creation tools such as Canva or CapCut is a plus
- Basic understanding of SEO or AI marketing tools is beneficial but not required
