Social Media Marketing Manager (Short-Term Event Campaign with potential long-term role)

Remote + Chicago Preferred Project Duration: Immediate Start through June 17, 2026

We are seeking a creative, organized, and culturally aware Social Media Marketing Manager to oversee promotion for a major live music event featuring Tukkiman at the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago.

This is a short-term contract position focused on building excitement, increasing engagement, and driving attendance leading up to the event, with the potential for an ongoing long-term role managing weekly social media content and audience engagement after the event.

About the Artist

Tukkiman is an award-winning singer, songwriter, and producer originally from Senegal whose music blends Afrobeats, Assiko, Reggae, hip-hop, and Pop into a lush, high-energy sound rooted in West African rhythm and culture.

This upcoming performance marks his highly anticipated return after a two-year sabbatical and will feature a 14-piece band with strings and horns, as well as a live album recording.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a short-term social media campaign
  • Create and schedule engaging content for Instagram and Facebook
  • Promote ticket reservations / event attendance
  • Coordinate posting schedule leading up to the event
  • Help communicate the story, energy, and significance of the performance
  • Collaborate with artist management on branding and messaging
  • Potentially continue managing weekly social media platforms and ongoing audience engagement following the event

Qualifications

  • Experience with social media marketing, preferably in music, arts, entertainment, or events
  • Strong writing and visual storytelling skills
  • Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, reels, stories, and event promotion
  • Ability to work quickly and independently
  • Organized and responsive communication

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who understands how to create momentum and excitement around a live event while maintaining an authentic voice and aesthetic.

An appreciation for global music, Afrobeats, arts culture, or live performance is a plus.

Compensation

Compensation DOE (dependent on experience).
