About Us

We are a new creator-led digital media company in Southeast Michigan focused on creating engaging, entertaining, and highly shareable content across social media platforms. We are looking for a creative, organized, and highly motivated Social Media Manager who lives and breathes social media and understands how to turn content into audience growth.

This is an excellent freelance opportunity for someone who enjoys creating content, staying on top of trends, and helping build a brand from the ground up. Enjoy extreme flexibility in hours if duties are completed.

Responsibilities

• Create and publish a handful of engaging social media content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and other platforms.
• Develop a consistent content calendar and posting schedule for platform-specific content.
• Create short-form video content including Reels, Shorts, TikToks, and promotional clips.
• Help shape the company’s social voice, tone, and visual style.
• Edit engaging social media assets with compelling captions, headlines, and calls-to-action.
• Identify trending topics, sounds, hashtags, memes and content opportunities.
• Monitor audience engagement and respond to comments and messages as appropriate.
• Track analytics and provide recommendations for growth and engagement.
• Collaborate with company leadership to develop content ideas and campaign strategies.
• Maintain brand voice and visual consistency across all platforms.
• Stay current on platform algorithm changes, best practices, and emerging social media trends.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience creating content and managing social media accounts for a brand or business.
• Strong short-form video editing skills using tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, Canva, Descript, or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Facebook, and emerging social media formats.
• Excellent written communication and copywriting skills.
• Ability to create visually appealing graphics and social content.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage deadlines and maintain a consistent posting schedule.
• Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with social media scheduling and analytics tools like Hootsuite, Later, Metricool, Buffer, or similar platforms.
• Attend occasional brand/company events to create behind-the-scenes content.
• This is a job for someone who lives in the Metro Detroit area and enjoys extreme flexibility in hours if duties are completed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience growing social media audiences organically.
• Experience creating viral or high-performing social content.
• Photography, videography, or content production experience.
• Familiarity with repurposing long-form content into short-form clips.
• Experience working with traditional and/or digital media companies, marketing firms or content creators.

This is a contract opportunity for y ou if you know how to make content perform, understand platform trends and algorithms, and can turn ideas into scroll-stopping posts, reels, and short-form video. You are creative, social, energetic, reliable, fun, imaginative and constantly paying attention to what's happening online. You understand what makes people stop scrolling, click, comment, share, and engage. You have a passion for Detroit, Michigan and attend events in the surrounding area. You enjoy turning raw content into compelling social media posts and are excited about helping grow a new media brand from the ground up.

Compensation

• $900 - $1,100 per month
• Compensation based on experience and workload
• Contract/Freelance Position
• Flexible schedule
