Social Media & Reels Coordinator (Part-Time, Contract, Remote)

We’re looking for a creative, organized, and socially fluent Social Media & Reels Coordinator to support content execution for a therapist, author, and podcast host in the parenting and mental health space.

This role is ideal for someone who genuinely lives in short-form video, understands Instagram Reels culture, and enjoys helping meaningful, nuanced ideas turn into engaging, human content.

You’ll help shape Reel ideas (to be re-purposed for TikTok), track trends, give filming guidance, edit content, post consistently, and support engagement with the community, all while maintaining a warm, grounded, emotionally intelligent brand voice.

This is a creative partnership + execution role, not a hustle-heavy, virality-at-all-costs position.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Track Instagram and TikTok trends and short-form video formats relevant to parenting, mental health, and lifestyle content
• Regularly propose Reel ideas (hooks, pacing, formats, captions)
• Give light, collaborative direction for filming (what to record, framing, timing, structure)
• Edit short-form video content (Reels, Stories) from provided recordings
• Schedule and post content consistently
• Write or polish captions in an authentic, relational voice
• Engage thoughtfully with comments and light community interaction
• Organize content ideas so nothing gets lost or overwhelming
• Support launches or special moments (podcast episodes, book-related content) with intentional planning

What This Role Is Not

• Not a paid ads or growth-marketing role
• Not responsible for funnels, SEO, or analytics dashboards
• Not a high-volume content factory
• Not influencer outreach or brand deals

Qualifications

• Experience creating or managing short-form video content (professional or personal)
• Strong intuition for Instagram Reels and TikTok trends, pacing, and tone
• Comfort giving creative direction in a collaborative, respectful way
• Experience editing video (CapCut, InShot, or similar tools)
• Familiarity with Canva or basic design tools
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently while staying aligned with brand voice
• Interest in mental health, parenting, wellness, or creative storytelling is a plus
