About the Social Media Specialist Role

The Social Media Specialist is responsible for developing, creating, and managing organic social media content across all Belmont Park brands, including Cannonball, Draft, FIT Athletic Social, and additional sister properties. This role oversees day-to-day content production, trend monitoring, and platform management, while supporting photoshoots, influencer collaborations, and vendor coordination. The position works closely with internal teams to ensure brand alignment and deliver content that supports engagement, growth, and overall visibility across all social channels.


What You’ll Do as a Social Media Specialist

Content Creation & Management

  • Film, edit, and produce high-quality photo and video content, with an emphasis on Reels and short-form social media video.

  • Curate, schedule, and manage daily posts across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and other platforms.

  • Write engaging, on-brand copy tailored to each platform and audience.

  • Support the creation of campaigns for new attractions, F&B offerings, seasonal initiatives, and ongoing brand priorities.

Social Strategy & Analytics Support

  • Assist in maintaining content calendars that align with brand goals.

  • Monitor social media trends, pop culture, and lifestyle content to create timely and relevant posts.

  • Track post performance and support reporting on metrics like reach, engagement, and conversions.

Influencer, Creator & Community Support

  • Assist with influencer and creator coordination, including scheduling visits and tracking deliverables.

  • Help manage on-property photoshoots and support creative direction.

  • Respond to social media messages and comments professionally and promptly.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with marketing, PR, operations, and event teams to ensure content aligns with brand initiatives.

  • Contribute creative ideas to support campaigns and enhance social presence.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:
  • Able to stand, walk, and sit for up to 8 hours in a single day.
  • Able to lift, carry, and transport equipment up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to move throughout the property for extended periods during on-site content capture.
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Visual acuity required for operating cameras, reviewing footage, and ensuring content quality.
  • Ability to talk, hear, and communicate clearly in dynamic environments.

Skills/Qualifications:
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Multimedia, or related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in social media marketing and content creation.
  • Strong writing skills with at least 1 year of writing and editing experience.
  • Fluent understanding of Instagram, TikTok, and emerging social platforms.
  • Proven ability to film, edit, and produce short-form video content.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Preferred:

  • 3–5 years of experience developing and managing social media strategies, ideally for multi-brand organizations or hospitality/lifestyle brands.
  • Agency experience is strongly preferred, particularly managing multiple clients or brand identities.
  • Experience collaborating with influencers, content creators, and social media vendors.
  • Strong design sensibility and understanding of brand identity and visual storytelling.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Meta Insights, Hootsuite Pro, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing demands.
