Job Description

Position: Social Media Specialist (Full-Time)Location: Bengaluru (On-site)Experience Required: At least 2 years of proven experience in social media managementEducation: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Candidates from Marketing and Communication background preferredLanguages: Proficiency in English and regional languages

Qualifications

  • A graduate degree in any discipline
  • Proficiency in analytical tools and preparing periodic reports
  • A working knowledge of Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Premiere Pro or other design and editing software
  • Good communication and strong writing skills
  • Working knowledge of Kannada is preferred though not mandatory

Roles & Responsibilities

Content Creation and Management

  • Develop a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with the university’s objectives
  • Create engaging, platform-specific content for Meta, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and YouTube. Other platforms may be added later.
  • Should be willing to commute across the three campuses of CMR University to cover events and generate content for posts
  • Ensure all content is relevant and informative, highlighting university events and achievements
  • Should be able to handle organic campaigns and event promotions
  • Develop and execute social media campaigns for university events and initiatives
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure unified promotional strategies

Audience Engagement

  • Interact with students, faculty, and the public across social media platforms
  • Address enquiries and feedback efficiently and appropriately
  • Foster a positive and inclusive online community around the university’s brand

Brand and Reputation Management

  • Uphold and enhance the university’s online reputation
  • Ensure consistent messaging across all platforms
  • Actively engage in online conversations related to the university

Collaboration and Coordination

  • Coordinate with departments such as Admissions, Alumni Relations, Schools and Public Relations
  • Work with external agencies on specialised campaigns and activations

Online Reputation Management (ORM)

  • Monitor platforms such as Google My Business, Quora, and other public forums
  • Ensure timely, brand-aligned responses to queries, reviews, and concerns
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders for content drafting, approvals, and publishing
  • Maintain a consistent and appropriate tone of voice across platforms
  • Apply ORM best practices to protect and enhance the university’s reputation
  • Respond with accuracy and sensitivity, maintaining professional standards at all times

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,284.19 - ₹40,405.01 per month
