Social Media Specialist

Overview
Are you passionate about creating engaging content, building online communities, and driving brand growth through digital media? We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Social Media & Content Specialist to join our growing team.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing Chinese-language social media channels, creating original content, executing marketing campaigns, and analyzing performance data to optimize results. The ideal candidate combines strong writing skills with hands-on experience in social media management, content marketing, and short-form video production.

Duties

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of social media platforms, ensuring content is published accurately, consistently, and on schedule.
  • Create original, high-quality written content including educational articles, promotional campaigns, product-related content, seasonal campaigns, and trend-based topics.
  • Plan and execute marketing campaigns, holiday promotions, and brand awareness initiatives from concept development through implementation and post-campaign analysis.
  • Develop, produce, and manage short-form video content, including script writing, filming coordination, editing, publishing, and performance optimization.
  • Maintain and update content across platforms such as WeChat Official Accounts, WeChat Channels, Douyin, RedNote (Xiaohongshu), and other relevant digital channels.
  • Monitor social media performance metrics including engagement, audience growth, content reach, video views, and conversion rates.
  • Prepare regular performance reports and provide actionable recommendations to improve content effectiveness and audience engagement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, design, product, and operations teams to support brand communication and promotional initiatives.
  • Stay current on industry trends, platform updates, emerging content formats, and consumer behavior within Chinese-speaking communities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Advertising, Media Studies, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in social media management, content marketing, digital marketing, or a related role.
  • Exceptional Chinese writing and editing skills with the ability to create engaging, original content across multiple formats and audiences.
  • Experience managing Chinese social media platforms, including WeChat, Douyin, Xiaohongshu, or similar channels.
  • Ability to independently create short-form video content, including script development, filming, editing, and publishing.
  • Familiarity with video editing tools such as CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent software.
  • Strong understanding of social media analytics and performance measurement.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with consumer brands, beauty, personal care, lifestyle, or e-commerce industries is a plus.
  • English proficiency is preferred; Chinese fluency (written and spoken) is required.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
