Social Services Director

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Services Director to lead our social services team in delivering comprehensive support to individuals with developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in social work, program development, and management, with a passion for empowering individuals to achieve their full potential. As the Social Services Director, you will oversee program operations, supervise staff, and foster collaborative relationships with community partners to ensure high-quality service delivery and positive outcomes. As the Director of Social Services, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties. The primary purpose of this position is to plan, organize and maintain the overall operation of this department in accordance with federal, state, and local guidelines and regulations

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of social service programs tailored to meet the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Supervise and mentor social services staff, providing guidance on best practices, performance management, and professional growth.
• Manage program budgets, allocate resources effectively, and ensure compliance with funding requirements and organizational policies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, families, community agencies, and stakeholders to promote collaboration and advocacy.
• Oversee case management activities, ensuring individualized service plans are developed and executed efficiently.
• Monitor program outcomes and prepare reports to demonstrate effectiveness and areas for improvement.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, including behavioral health standards and safety protocols.
• Foster an inclusive, respectful environment that promotes dignity and independence for all clients served.

Requirements

• Proven management experience in social services or related fields, with a focus on program development and supervision.
• Extensive knowledge of working with individuals with developmental disabilities and behavioral health needs.
• Strong relationship management skills to coordinate effectively with clients, families, community partners, and staff.
• Demonstrated experience in program management, including planning, implementation, and evaluation of services.
• Solid administrative background with expertise in budgeting, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
• Background in social work or related behavioral health disciplines is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—and the ability to lead diverse teams effectively. Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
