Subject Overview:

Geography in Grades 6 and 7 introduces students to the study of the Earth, its landforms, climates, natural resources, and how humans interact with their environment. The curriculum focuses on building an understanding of physical and political geography, map reading, and developing spatial awareness through a variety of engaging topics.

Key Objectives:

• To develop awareness about continents, oceans, countries, and regions.
• To understand the physical features of the Earth including mountains, plateaus, plains, rivers, and deserts.
• To introduce the concepts of weather and climate, natural resources, and environmental conservation.
• To encourage the use of maps, globes, and atlases for understanding spatial relationships.
• To cultivate an appreciation of how human activities affect the environment and vice versa.
