Social Worker

Job Purpose:

The School Social Worker provides support to students, parents, and staff to promote students’ emotional, social, and academic well-being. They work collaboratively within the school’s pastoral system to identify barriers to learning, address student welfare concerns, and enhance a safe, inclusive school environment in line with the ethos of a British Curriculum school in Qatar.

Key Responsibilities:

Student Support

• Provide counselling, guidance, and emotional support to students facing personal, social, or academic challenges.
• Identify at-risk students and develop intervention plans to address attendance, behavior, or emotional concerns.
• Support students with social integration, conflict resolution, and positive relationship-building.
• Ensure child safeguarding and protection protocols are followed according to Qatari law and school policy.

Parent & Family Engagement

• Work with families to address home-related issues that may impact student learning or well-being.
• Facilitate communication between parents and the school regarding student progress, welfare, or concerns.
• Provide guidance to parents on child development, positive parenting strategies, and available community resources.

Staff Collaboration

• Support teachers in managing students’ behavioral, emotional, or social challenges within the classroom.
• Deliver training sessions or workshops for staff on child protection, behavior management, and student well-being.
• Contribute to whole-school initiatives promoting a positive and inclusive school climate.

Policy & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (Qatar) requirements related to student welfare and safeguarding.
• Maintain accurate case records, reports, and documentation in line with school and ministry standards.
• Act as a member of the school’s safeguarding and child protection team.

Pay: QAR6,000.00 - QAR7,000.00 per month
