Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine client needs and eligibility for services
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, motivational interviewing, and applied behavior analysis
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions focusing on mental health, behavioral health, addiction recovery, PTSD care, and special education needs
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate medical documentation, HIPAA compliance, and proper management of medical records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
  • Engage in crisis intervention and crisis management to support clients experiencing acute emotional or behavioral distress
  • Facilitate case management activities including service planning, resource linkage, home & community care coordination, and progress tracking through data collection and research methods
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on diagnostic evaluation processes involving ICD-9/10 coding systems for accurate diagnosis documentation

Skills

  • Proven experience with psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, or behavioral therapy
  • Strong proficiency in motivational interviewing techniques to foster client engagement and motivation for change
  • Expertise in child & family counseling, working with children with autism or disabilities, special education settings, and geriatrics including Alzheimer's care
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT coding standards, ICD coding systems (ICD-9/10), and medical documentation practices aligned with HIPAA regulations
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder in home or community settings
  • Ability to perform patient assessments accurately while managing intake procedures efficiently
  • Knowledge of crisis management strategies for mental health crises involving PTSD or substance addiction recovery
  • Skilled in data collection for clinical research purposes related to behavioral health outcomes
