We’re hiring an experienced Software Architect to lead the design and development of scalable, cloud-native SaaS healthcare applications.
This is a hands-on role – approximately 60% coding and code reviews, and 40% architecture, design, and technical leadership.
You’ll own the system architecture, guide engineering teams, and ensure our products meet the highest standards of scalability, security, and healthcare compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems for SaaS healthcare applications.
- Write high-quality, maintainable code and perform in-depth code reviews.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to translate business requirements into robust technical designs.
- Lead incident response, production troubleshooting, and performance optimization efforts.
- Ensure solutions comply with HIPAA, cybersecurity, and QMS standards.
- Architect and implement integrations with EMR systems and healthcare protocols (DICOM, HL7, FHIR).
- Recommend technologies, frameworks, and architectural patterns to support evolving product goals.
- Mentor and provide technical leadership across development teams.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
- 10+ years of software development experience with proven leadership in senior technical roles.
- 5+ years of architecting and scaling SaaS applications.
- Strong background in distributed systems design (3+ years).
- Expert-level proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Deep experience with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, EKS, etc.).
- Skilled in Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Strong understanding of microservices, event-driven architecture, and distributed data management.
- Hands-on with PostgreSQL/MySQL, MongoDB/Redis, and message brokers such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SQS/SNS.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and API design (REST, GraphQL, API Gateway).
- Familiarity with OAuth, SSO, LDAP, and OpenID Connect.
- (Preferred) Prior experience with DICOM, HL7, FHIR, or healthcare system integrations.
