Software Architecture Manager

JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES:

The Software Architecture Manager – C++ Banking Software is responsible for coordinating day-to-day activities of a small, lean development team focused on a C++-based banking platform. This role ensures efficient management of tickets, alignment of development priorities, and seamless communication between engineering teams and clients.

The position acts as a bridge between technical and business stakeholders, supporting developers in issue resolution, ensuring proper task prioritization, and maintaining high standards of delivery, stability, and client satisfaction.

The role also contributes to process improvement, and operational visibility across development, support, and client-facing activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Coordinate and prioritize tickets, incidents, and development tasks across the team (bug fixing, enhancements, client requests).

· Act as primary interface between clients and internal engineering teams for issue clarification, status updates, and expectation management.

· Support developers in troubleshooting complex issues within the C++ banking platform, including analysis of logs, dumps, and system behavior.

· Ensure proper tracking and lifecycle management of tasks through JIRA (or equivalent tools).

· Facilitate daily/weekly team alignment (stand-ups, backlog reviews, prioritization sessions).

· Collaborate with Project Management and Product teams to align priorities and delivery timelines.

· Provide clear and structured communication to clients regarding incidents, progress, and resolutions.

· Support documentation efforts related to known issues, troubleshooting procedures, and system behavior.

· Escalate critical issues appropriately and ensure timely resolution.

TECHNOLOGY/SOFTWARE USED:

JIRA (or similar ticketing system)
GIT / Bitbucket / SVN
Jenkins or equivalent CI/CD tools
C++ (core application understanding required)
Windows Server environments
Microsoft SQL Server (basic query and troubleshooting knowledge)

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY AND SKILLS:

Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, work well with other team members, prioritize work activities, think strategically and ability to learn intricacies of Deda Sphere products as well as third party products and ability to work as a team.

Solid understanding of C++ applications, including debugging concepts, memory management basics, and log/dump analysis.

  • Experience working with small/lean development teams, with strong coordination and prioritization capabilities.
  • Ability to translate technical issues into clear communication for non-technical stakeholders (clients, business users).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex systems and identify root causes.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, production-critical environment (banking systems).
  • Experience with ticketing systems and SDLC processes.
  • Familiarity with production environments, incident management, and system stability concepts.
  • Ability to work in an ambiguous and evolving environment, balancing technical and business needs.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to make decisions within established frameworks and escalate when necessary.
  • Experience interacting directly with clients in a professional and structured manner.
  • Basic understanding of database systems (SQL Server) and distributed architectures is a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in an office environment and involves everyday risks or discomforts which requires normal safety precautions. Infrequent travel for this position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Work is essentially sedentary with occasional walking, standing, bending, carrying items under 25 pounds such as books, papers, small parts, etc.

COMPENSABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree or one to years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience using JIRA and GIT preferred.
