You’ll join an impactful team responsible for designing and developing software related to research and trading financial instruments including equities, fixed income and credit derivatives. Your tasks will include creating reusable and high-performance cloud narrative paradigms for analytics, back testing, live-trading, and portfolio management.

Job Description

We are looking for a talented software engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy working across boundaries. Instead of specializing in a single stack, you will frequently switch between languages, platforms, and problem domains to deliver the best solution for each challenge. The focus is on problem-solving, adaptability, and ownership rather than fitting a predefined technology box. You will work in a highly collaborative, detail-driven environment where code quality, scalability, and performance are paramount.

You do not need to be an expert in every technology we use. Strong competency in one or two core areas (such as C#/.NET, Python, or modern front-end development) is expected, while the ability and willingness to learn the rest on the job is essential. This is a breadth-oriented role, and we value curiosity and versatility over narrow specialization.

Responsibilities:

• Design, and deliver new features and improvements that align with business and user needs.
• UI/UX Excellence: Deliver intuitive and high-performing user interfaces using DevExpress controls and best practices, ensuring a seamless user experience.
• Front-End Development: Current priority is to design, build, and enhance internal desktop applications (e.g., desktop clients, Excel Add-Ins) and web-based administration portals using modern UI frameworks.
• Back-End Integration: Develop and maintain robust integrations with MSSQL/Postgres databases using T-SQL and Python, C# ensuring efficient data access and performance.
• Cloud & Infrastructure Support: Contribute to deployment and monitoring in a Windows and Azure environment, supporting operational stability and scalability.
• Code Quality & Standards: Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code; participate in peer reviews and enforce coding standards.
• Testing & Debugging: Develop and execute unit, integration, and performance tests; troubleshoot and resolve application issues in a timely manner.

Requirements

• English proficiency (at least C1 level).
• Hybrid position with min 2 days in office.
• 4+ years of professional software development experience or strong equivalent competency.
• Open to growth, learn new technologies, and adapt to changing requirements.
• Strong soft skills to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Paid in USD. Transportation and meal expenses covered.
• Must have interest in learning and growing in finance.
• Must have interest in implementing tools/applications used in financial analytics.

Process and working model

Candidates are expected to work freelance and either have a personal firm or be capable of establishing one in Istanbul. The income will be in USD. The actual base income offered depends on various factors, such as the applicant’s relevant experience, qualifications, education level, certifications, and skills. Base income is just one component of KB01’s comprehensive compensation package.
