Cumberland Christian School is seeking a dedicated and skilled Software Developer to join our team. This is a Full-Time position based in Califon, New Jersey, United States. As an institution committed to providing academic excellence and spiritual growth from preschool through to high school, we are looking for an individual who can support our mission through innovative technology solutions. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining the software systems that support our students, faculty, and administrative staff, helping to enhance the educational experience for the entire school community.
Responsibilities
* Design, code, test, and deploy high-quality software applications to meet the school's operational and educational needs.
* Collaborate with teachers, administrative staff, and leadership to gather requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
* Maintain and improve existing school software, including the Student Information System, websites, and internal portals.
* Manage databases, ensuring data security, integrity, and accessibility.
* Provide technical support and troubleshoot software issues for staff and faculty.
* Develop clear and comprehensive technical documentation for all software projects.
* Stay current with emerging technologies and propose solutions that could benefit the school's mission.
* Ensure all software solutions are secure and comply with data protection regulations.
Qualifications
* A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Proven professional experience in a software development role.
* Strong proficiency in front-end and back-end development languages and frameworks.
* Solid experience with database management systems (e.g., SQL).
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
* A self-motivated and organised individual capable of managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Desirable Attributes:
* Experience working within an educational or non-profit organisation.
* Familiarity with educational technology (EdTech) or content management systems.
