Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail oriented Software Engineer UI Test Engineer with 5+ years of experience in manual and automation testing, including hands on exposure to AI-driven test tools and MCP (Model Context Protocol) tools. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of UI/UX quality, proficiency in designing test cases and automation scripts, and experience working in fast-paced Agile environments. Familiarity with API testing and modern testing frameworks is a strong advantage.

This is a Hybrid position located at our Bangalore, India, development center. You will be required to be on-site 2 to 3 days per week. When you are not working on-site, you will be working from your home office. We are only considering candidates within a commutable distance to our Bangalore office and are not offering relocation assistance at this time.

About The Role

• Develop responsive, accessible, and performant UI features using React.js, TypeScript, and modern UI libraries (MUI, Tailwind, Chakra, etc.).
• Build reusable UI components, optimize rendering performance, and maintain coding best practices.
• Collaborate with designers to transform Figma/UI specs into high-quality, production-ready interfaces.
• Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js, Express/Nest.js, or similar frameworks.
• Implement REST/GraphQL APIs, middleware, caching, authentication, and data integrations.
• Work with databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis) for API-driven UI workflows.
• Utilize AI tools, AI Agents, and LLMs to automate UI development, improve workflows, and enhance end-user experience.
• Apply MCP (Model Context Protocol) to integrate context-aware AI capabilities into development and product features.
• Implement AI-driven UI enhancements such as smart suggestions, adaptive interfaces, or semantic search.
• Use GitHub Copilot and similar AI coding tools to improve development velocity and code quality.
• Contribute to AI-assisted code reviews, documentation, and automation scripts.
• Conduct performance tuning, component-level optimization, code splitting, and lazy loading.
• Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (WCAG) and best UI/UX practices.
• Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and solution design.
• Work within Agile/Scrum teams, contributing to estimations, sprint planning, and technical grooming.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, backend teams, and QA for end‑to‑end delivery.
  
  

About You

• 5–7 years of hands-on experience in full-stack or UI-focused development.
• Strong expertise in React.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern UI frameworks.
• Solid experience with Node.js, Express/NestJS, and API development.
• Practical hands-on experience with:
• AI Tools (OpenAI/Azure OpenAI tooling, AI-assisted coding, AI testing tools)
• LLMs (prompting, function calling, model integration)
• AI Agents (autonomous workflows, agent frameworks)
• MCP (Model Context Protocol) for integrating AI context and tools
• GitHub Copilot or similar AI coding assistants
• Strong understanding of frontend architecture, state management (Redux, Zustand, Context API), and component-driven development.
• Experience with build systems and packaging tools (Vite, Webpack, Esbuild).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI).
• Knowledge of browser performance debugging, Web Vitals optimization, and best security practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
