Software Engineer – Agriculture data & High-Performance Computing
Location: Remote (with optional site visits available)
About the Role
We're seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our agricultural technology team in developing and maintaining data-intensive applications for the agriculture industry. This position offers the flexibility of remote work, with optional opportunities to visit client sites if desired. You'll work on building robust data pipelines, optimizing database systems, and implementing high-performance computing solutions that help producers make better data-driven decisions.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you'll design and implement ETL processes to move and transform data from various agricultural sources (inventory management systems, IoT sensors) into our data warehousing systems. You'll develop and maintain web and desktop applications using C#, creating user-friendly interfaces for producers and industry professionals. A significant portion of your work will involve database design, optimization, and query development to ensure efficient data access and storage. You'll also leverage CUDA to implement parallel processing solutions for computationally intensive tasks like performance analysis and optimization algorithms.
Required Qualifications
You should have proven experience developing ETL pipelines and data integration workflows, along with strong proficiency in C# and the .NET ecosystem. Solid experience with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar) is essential, including database design, optimization, and complex query writing. You'll need demonstrable experience with CUDA programming for GPU-accelerated computing, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining strong communication with the team.
Preferred Skills
Web development experience using ASP.NET, Blazor, or similar frameworks is highly valued. Experience with Azure cloud services and proficiency working in Linux environments are important assets. Familiarity with additional languages like Python or R for data analysis, knowledge of data visualization tools, and experience with version control systems (Git) would be beneficial. Background or interest in agriculture or agricultural technology is a strong plus.
What We Offer
This position provides competitive salary and benefits, the flexibility of remote work with autonomy over your schedule, and opportunities for professional development and learning. You'll have the chance to work on challenging technical problems that directly impact agricultural producers, with optional site visits available for those interested in seeing the technology in action.
