Software Engineer

Metrics Recruitment is partnering with an investment firm managing over $500M across multiple funds, focused on the frontier of the crypto ecosystem. We are seeking a Software Engineer to build cutting-edge proprietary AI agents and data infrastructure from the ground up.

You’ll work directly with the founding team to build high-performance systems that automate research and synthesize investment intelligence. This role is for engineers who thrive on deep technical ownership and building in high-ambiguity environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and scale proprietary agents to automate research and decision-support tasks.
• Maintain portfolio tracking tools and critical operational infrastructure.
• Architect pipelines to turn raw datasets (real-time financial data, trading, social media, news) into actionable insights.
• Own projects from initial design through production deployment and monitoring.

Requirements

• 2–5+ years building and maintaining production-grade systems.
• Proficiency in Python or TypeScript .
• Hands-on experience using AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude) to ship faster.
• Ability to operate independently and solve complex problems across the stack.
• Willing to work in the Union Square (NYC) office 4 days per week.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience in startups, fintech, or crypto-native environments.
• Knowledge of data science or complex data engineering.
