Software Engineer, AI Analytics

Residex.ai is seeking two (2) exceptionally talented AI Data Analytics, Software Engineer I candidates to join the elite Thea AI team. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for Master of Science candidates to work on production-grade, industry-defining challenges while completing their graduate degrees.

This role is structured as a Part-Time engagement (20 hours per week), designed to complement your academic pursuits. Upon successful completion of your MS degree, it is our intention to extend a full-time offer of employment — bringing you on as a full member of the Residex family to continue building what you helped create.

This position is based in-office at the Denver Tech Center for the first two years, ensuring you are fully immersed in our culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence from day one.

As a member of the Thea AI team, you will roll up your sleeves and work alongside seasoned engineers and data scientists on problems that matter. Your responsibilities will span the full analytics and AI engineering lifecycle:


AI Platform & Data Engineering

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and analytics workflows using Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and Snowflake, ensuring high availability, accuracy, and performance.
  • Build and integrate AI/ML model components into the Thea platform, contributing to model training pipelines, inference services, and feedback loops.
  • Develop and optimize data transformation logic (ETL/ELT) to process large-scale structured and unstructured datasets across cloud environments.
  • Implement and maintain data models, semantic layers, and reporting datasets that support real-time and batch analytics consumption.


Analytics & Visualization

  • Create rich, interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that translate complex analytical outputs into actionable business intelligence for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with product and design teams to define KPIs, metrics frameworks, and data storytelling strategies that drive platform value.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover patterns, anomalies, and opportunities within enterprise datasets.


Software Engineering & Collaboration

  • Write clean, well-documented, and testable code in Python, SQL, and/or TypeScript; participate in peer code reviews and engineering design discussions.
  • Contribute to the evolution of platform architecture, APIs, and microservices supporting the Thea AI ecosystem.
  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (sprints, standups, retrospectives) and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with senior engineers, data architects, and product managers to translate requirements into technical solutions with measurable impact.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies in AI, cloud data platforms, and analytics engineering — and bring those insights back to the team.

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in and actively pursuing a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a closely related quantitative discipline.• Demonstrated proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation, analysis, and scripting.• Foundational understanding of machine learning concepts, statistical modeling, and data engineering principles.• Exposure to cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS, or GCP) and modern data warehouse technologies.• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to decompose complex problems into elegant, scalable solutions.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to convey technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.• Ability to commit to 20 hours per week on-site at the Denver Tech Center while completing graduate coursework.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Data Factory, Synapse Analytics) and Power BI for enterprise analytics development.• Experience with Snowflake, including data modeling, query optimization, and Snowpark for Python.• Prior internship or project experience in data analytics, data engineering, or AI/ML software development — particularly in SaaS or enterprise technology environments.• Familiarity with MLOps tooling, including experiment tracking (MLflow), model registries, and CI/CD pipelines for ML workflows.• Working knowledge of version control (Git), containerization (Docker), and cloud-native development practices.• Experience with TypeScript, Scala, or Java in a data or backend engineering context.• Academic or applied research experience in areas such as NLP, computer vision, time-series forecasting, or graph analytics.A portfolio of relevant academic, open-source, or internship projects that demonstrate end-to-end data and AI engineering capabilities.
