Position: Software Engineer – Robotics Systems
Overview:
As a Software Engineer at Rovex, you’ll develop the full software stack that powers our autonomous patient transport robots. You’ll work across robotics systems, patient-facing interfaces, and secure backend infrastructure that connects the hospital and robot ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities
Robotics Software Development

  • Design and implement robust architectures for autonomous mobile robots operating in complex hospital environments
  • Develop and maintain ROS2-based modules for navigation, control, perception, and task planning

Patient-Facing and Operator Interfaces

  • Build intuitive front-end interfaces for patients and clinical staff to interact safely and efficiently with the robot
  • Develop operator dashboards and transport control systems for real-time monitoring, scheduling, and oversight

Backend Systems & Data Infrastructure

  • Design secure backend systems for data storage, analytics, and synchronization with hospital networks
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain strict data privacy and security standards
  • Implement AI pipelines to analyze operational data, improve performance, and enhance reliability

Tools & Support

  • Develop internal tools for diagnostics and remote support
  • Collaborate closely with hardware, electrical, and mechanical engineers to validate software in lab and real hospital settings
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and overall software reliability

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science or a related field
  • Proficiency in ROS2 and experience building robust, real-time robotics applications
  • Strong command of C++ for performance-critical and hardware-integrated systems
  • Working knowledge of Python for scripting, tooling, and rapid development
  • Experience with SLAM, motion planning, perception, sensor fusion, and control systems

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with human-robot interaction (HRI) and user-centered design
  • Knowledge of cloud data management, secure communication protocols, and AI-based analytics
  • 2+ years of experience developing full-stack software for autonomous robots or embedded systems

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
