Software Engineering Intern

Overview

Sigma Squared is a talent optimization platform that identifies, isolates, and embeds productivity insights into hiring, operations, and management workflows. We are seeking a curious and motivated Software Engineering Intern to join our team this Summer. You’ll work directly alongside our team of software engineers and data scientists to build production-grade software that helps leaders in Hospitality, Law Enforcement, and Enterprise sectors turn workforce data into performance intelligence. Our internship program is an onsite, full-time role designed for students who want to bridge the gap between academic theory and high-impact startup engineering. Flexible for students looking for a co-op cycle as well.

Key Responsibilities

• Feature Development: Build and ship high-quality code across our platform (full-stack).
• Collaboration: In addition to partnering alongside a group of senior software engineers, you'll also work with product, design, & data science to ship new features.
• Tooling & Infrastructure: Help build and improve internal tools that streamline the workflows of our engineering and data science teams.
• Code Quality: Participate in code reviews and learn to write testable, maintainable code within a robust CI/CD environment.
• AI Integration: Explore the use of LLMs to help automate parts of the data transformation and ingestion process.
  
  

Qualifications

• Academic Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong foundational knowledge in at least one programming language (preferably TypeScript or Python).
• Disposition: A friendly, flexible, and inquisitive mindset with a desire to learn.
• Location: Must be able to work on-site full-time at our Cambridge, MA office for the duration of the internship/co-op.
