Location: Remote but must be local to Phoenix, AZ area

Type: 6+ month contract

Pay: $48/hr

We’re hiring a Software QA Tester to support a large-scale system modernization project replacing multiple legacy government programs. This is a hands-on, execution-focused QA role where you’ll be responsible for validating system functionality, ensuring data accuracy, and supporting user acceptance testing across a complex application environment.

This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in structured testing environments , enjoys working with detailed test scripts , and is comfortable collaborating with business stakeholders, SMEs, and project teams .

What You’ll Be Doing

• Execute manual test cases and test scripts across multiple testing phases
• Perform functional, regression, UAT, and ad hoc testing
• Support data conversion and validation testing between legacy and new systems
• Document and track defects/bugs using standard tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps)
• Record and report pass/fail results clearly and accurately
• Review and provide feedback on test scripts and testing documentation
• Partner with Business Analysts, SMEs, and project teams to validate requirements
• Participate in daily standups, sprint reviews, and defect triage sessions
• Assist with operational readiness and end-user testing support

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in software testing / QA
• Experience executing manual test cases and working from test scripts
• Strong understanding of functional, regression, and UAT testing
• Experience with defect tracking tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps, etc.)
• Ability to produce clear, concise test documentation
• Experience testing large or complex applications (multi-module systems preferred)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams

Nice to Have

• Experience with data migration / conversion testing
• Exposure to government or public sector systems
• Familiarity with Agile environments (sprints, standups, reviews)
