Soils & Materials Lab Assistant

Job Summary:
We are looking for a Soils & Materials Lab Assistant to join our team in Lynchburg full-time. This role involves preserving and securing field samples, mastering relevant standards and procedures, using gINT software, ensuring equipment calibration, and overseeing soil and concrete testing.

Qualifications:

1 to 3 years of professional experience
Ability to lead a team
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Organized and able to meet deadlines
Proficient in OSHA regulations and prioritizes workplace safety

Responsibilities:

Preserve and secure all field samples
Master ASTM/AASHTO/VDOT standards and procedures
Become proficient with gINT software
Ensure calibration and maintenance of testing equipment
Report concerns or damages to equipment
Oversee soil and concrete testing according to standards
Perform quality control audits for compliance with accreditation standards
