Solar Engineer

Our client is an Australian company, a leader in their industry, seeking an experienced and highly skilled Solar Engineer to join their team remotely from India.

*Fixed 5-day working week, Monday to Friday, with a day shift*

THE ROLE:

As an Electrical Engineer (Solar Panel Damage & Insurance Reporting), you will assess, document, and estimate solar panel damage for insurance purposes. You will prepare accurate reports and cost estimates, work with internal teams, clients, and insurance providers, and manage jobs in AroFlo to ensure accurate invoicing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct inspections of solar panel systems to identify, assess, and document damage.
• Analyse causes and extent of solar panel damage due to weather events, accidents, or system malfunctions.
• Prepare detailed insurance assessment reports including damage analysis, scope of works, and recommended remedial actions.
• Perform accurate cost estimations for solar panel repairs and replacement installations, including labour and material costs.
• Collaborate with clients, insurance providers, supervisors, and internal teams to gather and verify required claim information.
• Schedule awarded jobs in the Project Management System (AroFlo) and ensure project details are correctly recorded.
• Review job completeness in AroFlo, ensuring labour timesheets, materials, and related costs are updated for invoicing.
• Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams to ensure accurate reporting and estimating outcomes.
• Stay updated with Australian solar industry standards, installation guidelines, and compliance requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and database records related to projects and insurance claims.
• Assist with additional estimating, reporting, and electrical engineering tasks as required.
• Ensure tasks are completed in line with company policies, procedures, and productivity expectations.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in solar panel system installation, maintenance, and damage assessment.
• Strong knowledge of solar PV technologies, system design, installation methods, and maintenance practices.
• Proven experience preparing insurance reports and cost estimates related to solar panel damage.
• Familiarity with insurance claim procedures within the renewable energy or electrical industry is preferred.
• Experience using project management or estimating software such as AroFlo or similar platforms.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote working environment with strong organisational and time management skills.
