Solar Service Electrician

Licensed Electrician Job Responsibilities:

  • Performing required preventive maintenance activities on residential and commercial PV systems to maintain warranty coverage responding to corrective maintenance cases on PV systems.
  • Install, troubleshooting, resolving and/or repairing electrical components.
  • Install and repair racking, panels and standoffs for PV systems - roof & ground-mounted systems
  • Ability or willingness to learn how to properly read and interpret blueprints and as-builts
  • Inspect systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or reason for production loss
  • Ensure the vehicle, tooling, electronics, software, and company property issued are accounted for and taken care of.
  • Install, remove, and maintain solar panels and other related electrical equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair system failures at existing solar sites.
  • Support and develop real time solutions to daily site operational issues, with minimal supervisory input.
  • Develop plans, maintenance schedules and communicate with various groups.
  • Qualifying of equipment and systems.
  • Follow corrective action procedures, document work and update work orders on a daily basis
  • Prepare service reports for site visits, emergency repairs, equipment modifications and equipment improvement investigations.
  • Effectively identify deviations and communicate to management required changes
  • Communicate consistently with Customers, Site Technicians, Project Coordinators and Project Manager to ensure timely and efficient resolution to all site maintenance activities
  • Ability and willingness to use our project management and time management software
  • Ensure a safe, event free work environment by ensuring strict adherence to company protocols
  • Ensure compliance with all operational, environmental and other regulatory and policy compliance requirements. Monitor station environmental, health and safety objectives and ensure they are met.

Licensed Electrician Skills and Qualifications:

  • Requires a current CT State Electricians License to be considered for the position and a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
  • NABCEP certification preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience installing photovoltaic systems preferred
  • Ability to work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold)
  • Must be willing and able to climb ladders, stairs and work on rooftops
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exercises a high level of professionalism and a positive demeanor
  • Capable of lifting 50+ lbs.
  • Must have a valid CT state driver’s license and a clean driving record (example- no DUI in the last 5 years)
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment criminal screen & drug test
  • Regular 40 hour work with some overtime

Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
