SolidWorks Drafter - Product Designer

R&R Products is a global leader in turf equipment parts and supplies for the golf, landscape and sports turf industries since 1971. R&R is seeking highly skilled, self-motivated people for our Engineering team.

Under general supervision, applies skills and knowledge in procedures and techniques to prepare mechanical design and complex assemblies in support of engineering function. Position is involved in the evaluation and modification of existing production drawings and assembly instructions as needed. Also capable of reverse engineering a part to determine design function, material to be used and production procedure.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with ERP database applications used for BOM and associated content.

· Create and modify detailed drawings using SolidWorks software from sketches, layouts, actual parts or notes.

· Check drawings for correctness and conformance to standards.

· Ability to assemble, within SolidWorks, complex mechanical systems.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Expertise in parametric design and tolerance principles.

· Experience with Solidworks.

· Working knowledge of ANSI/ASME Y14.5

· Proficient with Microsoft Office, primarily Excel and Word.

· Proficient in the field of mechanical design.

· Proficient with the use of precision mechanical instruments (calipers, dial gages, CMM, etc).

· Strong computer skills required include spreadsheets, presentations, 3D CAD and ERP.

· Must have good organizational, time-management skills and ability to work on multiple projects at once.

· Communicate effectively with engineers, drafters, and others within the company as needed.

· Knowledgeable of parts manufactured in a machine shop facility (CNC lathe, milling, break press, laser cutting, tool & die,etc.

Education and Experience

· Associates Degree or 3 years of job experience in a technology field (drafting and design, engineering or mechanical engineering).

· Experience with SolidWorks design software and PDM.

This is not a remote position. All duties will be performed in our offices in Tucson, AZ.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,000.00 - $72,800.00 per year
