Solution Buyer (Local Purchaser)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Solution Buyer (Local Purchaser) to manage the procurement of goods and services from local suppliers in Pakistan. This role is essential for ensuring timely, cost-effective, and compliant sourcing of materials and solutions that support infrastructure, utility, and smart grid projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source, evaluate, and onboard local suppliers for materials, equipment, and services.
  • Manage the full procurement cycle: RFQs, bid evaluations, purchase orders, and contract negotiations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and local regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, logistics, and finance teams to align purchasing with project needs and timelines.
  • Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and generate regular reports on purchasing activities.
  • Support cost-saving initiatives and identify opportunities for local sourcing optimization.
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods and services to meet project milestones.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in local procurement or purchasing, preferably in infrastructure, utilities, or industrial sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of local supplier markets and procurement regulations in Pakistan.
  • Well-established network and strong relationships with local suppliers and vendors across key categories.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and procurement tools.
  • Fluent in English and proficient in Urdu and/or other regional Pakistani languages for effective communication with vendors and stakeholders.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Knowledge of public procurement rules and SROs in Pakistan.
  • Familiarity with technical procurement (e.g., electrical, mechanical, IT systems).
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
  • High ethical standards, attention to detail, and a results-driven mindset.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 12 months
