Solutions Architect - Sales Engineer

We’re looking for a Solutions Architect - Sales Engineerwho can shape the future of AWS projects while driving presales success. In this role, you’ll design enterprise-grade architectures, lead high-stakes client discussions, and guide migrations and data strategies that unlock the full potential of the cloud. Partnering closely with sales and engineering teams, you’ll not only craft solutions but also influence outcomes—turning opportunities into wins and wins into long-term client value.


The Role:

The Solutions Architect is a senior technical resource within the organization, fulfilling a coordination and leadership role in the development of AWS projects, with a particular emphasis on presales activities. This role requires extensive technical knowledge and experience in multiple AWS technology areas and integration, coupled with strong planning and analytical skills. Responsible for data architecture and design, as well as the development of data and metadata models, the Senior Solutions Architect also plays a pivotal role in presales engagements, educating customers on the value proposition of AWS and participating in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud. Additionally, they work as part of cross-functional teams dealing with the full spectrum of information management technology.


Principle Accountabilities:

  • Deliver a project scope that directly supports the key business drivers.
  • Define the overall architecture, including presales considerations.
  • Define technical requirements, technical and data architectures, with a focus on presales solutions.
  • Design and direct the migration process, including data engineering, incorporating presales insights.
  • Create SOW’s and work with sales team to get deal to the finish line
  • Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams, and support, especially in presales contexts.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a client-facing pre-sales or sales engineering role, leading technical discovery, solution design, and presentations to both technical and executive stakeholders
  • Strong ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions, with excellent communication, storytelling, and whiteboarding skills
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud architecture, including designing, migrating, and modernizing customer environments
  • Experience with Amazon Connect or similar CCaaS platforms, including positioning and demonstrating AI-driven capabilities (e.g., AI Agents, analytics, forecasting, dialers)
  • Proficiency in coding, scripting, or automation (e.g., Python, Java, PowerShell) to support demos, prototypes, and proof-of-concepts
  • Practical experience with AI tools and prompt engineering (e.g., Amazon Q, MCP, AWS Kiro) to showcase innovative customer solutions
  • Background in roles such as Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Technical Consultant; Bachelor’s degree in a related field and AWS certifications/SME experience preferred
  • 5+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
