Sommelier/Server

The Cellar is a refined, intimate wine bar in Pasadena designed to feel like a living wine library. We focus on thoughtful service, curated wines from around the world, and creating a calm, elevated environment where guests can explore, learn, and enjoy at their own pace. We are looking for passionate wine professionals who value hospitality as much as knowledge.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide warm, knowledgeable, and attentive table service
  • Guide guests through our wine list with confidence and enthusiasm
  • Make thoughtful wine recommendations based on guest preferences
  • Open and serve wine tableside with proper technique
  • Accurately input orders and manage tabs using POS
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of service stations
  • Communicate effectively with management and bar staff
  • Uphold all service, safety, and alcohol compliance standards

What We’re Looking For

  • Wine knowledge required (formal certifications a plus, not required)
  • Prior server and/or sommelier experience preferred
  • Genuine passion for wine and hospitality
  • Professional, calm, and polished demeanor
  • Strong communication and guest-engagement skills
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Comfortable working in a quiet, upscale service environment

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.25 - $30.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
