We are looking to add a Sourcing and Procurement Specialist II for evaluating and recommending sourcing strategy for the procurement of goods and materials to include contract management, negotiation and vendor relationships. S/he will identify new sources to meet new business requirements and continuously measure effectiveness and cost savings.
Core Responsibilities Include:
Procurement:
- Perform the required purchasing tasks for the procurement of materials by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Work Instructions (WI).
- Submit approved Purchase Orders to suppliers for processing following supplier protocols for Purchase Order placement ensuring purchase requirements are met.
- Resolve material shortages, discrepancies or other issues via communication with Suppliers to expedite procurement and researching alternate materials and Vendors.
- Complete necessary tasks and assignments for NCMR’s, Process Deviations, and CAPA’s; participate in related QA meetings as required.
- Create and maintain the part numbers in ERP software; create Purchasing Specifications for applicable part numbers ensuring minimum requirements are met.
- Assist with maintenance of Approved Supplier List. Complete and distribute supplier evaluations/surveys as required to ensure the timely approval and maintenance of Supplier List. Assist with Supplier Audits.
Sourcing:
- Actively participate in Project Core Team meetings; collaborating with departments to ensure proper materials are procured; researching alternate materials, pricing and Vendors.
- Communicate expectations to Suppliers, negotiate prices and terms, and recommend Suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and lead-time.
- Negotiate/implement Supplier Agreements, Quotes and Change Notifications. Performs periodic review of Agreements, Quotes and Notifications to ensure they are accurate and active.
- Meets with Suppliers to maintain positive business relationships; interact with suppliers to manage production and fulfillment schedules.
- Compile and analyze data to perform price analysis, make source selection and procurement justifications.
- Knowledge-share with team members and promote best practices.
You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, supply chain or other related field of study and, typically, 4+ years of applicable experience to include 2+ years with ISO 13485 or other similarly regulated industry. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Applied experience in an ERP system; Oracle Cloud is highly advantageous.
- Experience in Life Sciences, medical device industry, or other regulated environment is advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint) and the ability to learn new software programs to include Oracle ERP system.
