Sourcing & Food Development Specialist

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and collaborative Sourcing & Food Development Specialist to support the development of high-quality, cost-effective food products. This role works closely with Sourcing, Product Development, Merchant, and Quality teams to ensure products meet brand standards and consumer expectations from concept through launch. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and passionate about food innovation and supplier coordination.

Responsibilities Sourcing

• Identify and qualify new suppliers to expand production capabilities and support innovation.
• Assist the sourcing team with cost negotiations and supplier relationship management.
• Upload and maintain supplier quotes, product costs, and new material codes in PLM systems.
• Add new suppliers into PLM with complete and accurate contact information.
• Maintain and update the master supplier contact list.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline sourcing workflows and improve efficiency.
• Provide timely feedback to suppliers and international partners to support continuous improvement.

Food Development

• Support Product Development and Merchant teams during the creation of new food products.
• Conduct food testing and sensory evaluations for taste, texture, and overall performance.
• Track and manage food development tasting approvals and update Wrike boards for visibility.
• Maintain and enhance Wrike project boards to track samples, development stages, and approvals.

Ongoing Contributions

• Uphold high standards in food quality, supplier collaboration, and ethical sourcing.
• Improve team efficiency through strong project tracking, supplier engagement, and process optimization.
• Provide clear communication, timely updates, and actionable insights across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in food sourcing, product development, or within the CPG industry preferred.
• Experience with PLM systems and supplier management is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for food development and innovation.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
