Develop Sourcing Strategy: Create and execute long-term commodity strategies for interior and exterior parts, aligning with manufacturing capacity and quality goals.
Total Cost of Ownership (TCO): Drive all sourcing decisions based on TCO, accounting for unit price, tooling, logistics, quality, and service costs.
Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and manage supply chain risks related to supplier capacity, financial stability, and raw material fluctuations (e.g., polymer resins, steel).
Understand Specification & Requirements: Collaborate closely with Engineering/R&D to finalize technical specifications, drawings, and quality requirements for new parts.
Material Knowledge : Plastic and rubber materials knowledge and supplier base. Material indexing
Process Knowledge : Plastic and Rubber Injection molding, Blow Molding, Rubber compression molding, Thermoforming, Plastic welding, Thermosets.
Supplier Identification & Selection: Conduct rigorous market research to identify and evaluate potential domestic and international suppliers.
Supplier Audit: Lead technical and quality audits (e.g., capability assessment, IATF 16949 compliance) of potential vendors prior to selection.
Supplier On boarding: Manage the end-to-end process of supplier on boarding, including system setup, APQP/PPAP initiation, and first-batch approvals
RFQ/ RFI Preparation: Prepare and issue comprehensive Request for Quotes (RFQ) and Request for Information (RFI) packages to qualified suppliers.
Cost Negotiation: Lead all commercial negotiations for new projects and annual price settlements to achieve aggressive cost reduction targets.
Contract Management: Draft, negotiate, and finalize Master Supply Agreements (MSA), ensuring favourable terms, intellectual property protection, and quality assurance clauses.
PO Preparation: Oversee and validate the accuracy of all major Purchase Orders (PO) for production materials and tooling investments.
