Sourcing & Procurement Manager

Precision Products Group (PPG) is a growing global leader in converting niche engineered materials for electrical, aerospace & defense, medical, and industrial markets. As a result of growth, we are introducing a new Sourcing & Procurement Manager role to strengthen and scale our operations across the enterprise. Precision Products Group operates across multiple company divisions and brands, which include Cindus Corporation, Paramount Tube, Breyden Products, Saylor Technical Products, and Euclid Medical.
We seek a strategic yet hands-on supply chain professional who is comfortable and excels in a 'coach/player' capacity—leading a corporate purchasing team while actively performing sourcing and purchasing activities. This role will lead and support strategic sourcing, procurement operations, supplier relationship management, cost management, and compliance & risk management. This role drives supply chain performance through aggregating and leveraging spending across multiple company divisions, is highly data-driven with decision-making, and operational excellence. The Sourcing & Procurement Manager will be highly collaborative cross-functionally within the organization and is a critical resource for the company to achieve aggressive growth targets. Experience in textiles, fibers, and yarns would be helpful for this role.
Strategic Sourcing
- Develop, implement, and execute corporate sourcing strategies, including RF(X) events, vendor qualification, and contract negotiations to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance.
- Conduct market analysis to identify new suppliers, trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Lead RFI/RFP/RFQ processes, negotiate contracts, and select vendors.
Procurement Operations
- Oversee procurement of direct and indirect materials across all business units.
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities, including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and supplier onboarding.
- Implement best practices and leverage analytics to enhance supply chain performance and ensure a focus on continuous improvement.
- Ensure timely availability of raw materials and production goods to support on-time delivery of finished products to customers.
- Maintain procurement records, pricing databases, and supplier documentation.
- Act as the primary buyer for textile products (fibers, yarns, and related raw materials).
Supplier Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
- Conduct Supplier Performance Evaluations and drive continuous improvement.
- Resolve supplier issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.
Cost Management
- Develop cost-saving initiatives and track procurement KPIs.
- Coordinate with finance to maintain accurate budget forecasts and cost analyses.
- Analyze total costs and identify opportunities for efficiency and spend reduction to support annual cost-reduction targets and strategic initiatives or projects.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, sales, and quality teams to align procurement activities with operational needs and customer deliverables.
- Support new product development and launches through early supplier involvement.
- Provide insights to leadership regarding spend trends and sourcing performance.
- Lead and mentor an existing purchasing team (3–4 buyers) while actively managing procurement activities.
- Co-lead corporate Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and demand planning to improve forecast accuracy and inventory optimization (right-sizing levels to demand).
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and external regulations.
- Identify and mitigate supply risks to ensure continuity and resilience.
- Partner with appropriate resources, including legal, to review and negotiate contract terms.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree or APICS certification preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive supply chain experience, including leadership roles.
- Experience in textiles (fibers and yarns sourcing and procurement) strongly preferred.
- Excellent analytical, data analysis, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven experience partnering with GPOs to ensure favorable pricing.
- Strong knowledge of supply planning and S&OP processes, along with cost modeling and supply chain risk management.
- Proficiency with procurement software & ERP/MRP systems, experience with Made2Manage or Winman preferred.
- AI-driven supply chain optimization experience is a plus.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working within small-to-mid-sized companies that are PE-owned.
Up to 25% travel to suppliers, manufacturing sites, and corporate offices. Valid passport required as there may be some international travel.
