Sourcing/Costing Specialist

The Sourcing/Costing Specialist role at K&M Accessories provides support and acts as a liaison between our customers and vendors. Our ideal Sourcing/Costing Specialist will possess strong communication, analytical and organizational skills. This candidate will communicate daily with both internal team members and foreign vendors to negotiate and ultimately choose vendors based on best pricing and quality. This candidate will be supported by the VP of Asian Operations and Global Procurement and work closely with the VP and the design team to ensure that vendors are chosen efficiently and accurately in accordance with customer expectations and company margin goals.

Description of Duties:

Review all projects with the VP of Asian Operations and Global Procurement.

Process development packages immediately. Forward original developments with any applicable samples, artwork or components to the China Offices/suppliers.

Choose suppliers with the VP of Asian Operations and Global Procurement; based on negotiated prices, current work-in-process, current QC issues, customer certifications and the suppliers’ ability to complete the developments properly and in a timely manner.

Follow up with suppliers and the China Office upon receipt of the development for further questions and clarification of the development package. Insure on-time shipment of samples to meet all market and presentation deadlines.

Check in all samples against the original development packages. Pass samples for Designers’ approval. Ensure that all items are properly price updated into SAP and all pictures reflect the samples received. Pass all samples to design.

Complete cost sheets for both presentations and final purchases for Finance Approval.

Order pre-approval/QC samples for all orders. Complete approval/QC turnover information to be entered into PO Web and communicated to the China Office and suppliers.

SKILLS TO SUCCEED:

1+ year of cataloging experience and 1+ year of sourcing experience

Analytical, organized, diligent and good communication and follow through skills.

Be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and have a general knowledge of Photo Editor or similar editing programs.

A working knowledge of the Image Database and JD Edwards systems and SAP or the ability to learn.

Must be team oriented and able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
