Sous Chef

We are looking for an organized, creative and efficient Sous Chef to help lead our kitchen team with James Beard Award winning chef Adam Siegel at Lupi & Iris, delivering French, Italian and Spanish inspired dishes. As a sous chef you will work closely with our Chef de Cuisine and Executive Chef to uphold standards for our culinary excellence and kitchen operations. The ideal candidate should be proactive, experienced, and professional with a passion for food and hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Kitchen Leadership - manage and mentor the staff, including prep cooks, line cooks and dishwashers. Help conduct pre-shift meetings, delegate tasks, and ensure all team members adhere to proiper standards and policies.
• Operations - Set up the kitchen and ensure a seamless and timely execution of service.
• Quality Control - Supervise all food preparation, cooking and plating to ensure all food meets the standards of Lupi & Iris.
• Inventory management- Assist in overseeing the kitchen inventory, inclusing ordering, receiving deliveries and monitoring product levels to minimize waste and control costs.
• Safety and Sanitation - enforce a strict adherence to all health, sanitation and safety guidelines and regulations.
• Training - Interview, train and onboard new staff, ensuring they are proficient in all kitchen protocols and procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a culinary management or supervisory position in a fine dining restaurant.
• Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment (e.g. grillers and pasta makers)
• In depth knowledge of culinary techniques.
• Leadership skills
• A valid ServSafe certification
• Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks
• Excellent time management abilities
• Knowledge of proper sanitation guidelines
• Advanced skills in leadership and communication
• Attention to detail

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $57,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
