Job Summary:
As Sous Chef, you’ll play a central role in turning our freshly grown organic produce into exceptional farm-to-table dining experiences. You'll support the Head or Farm-to-Table Chef by supervising daily kitchen operations, leading kitchen staff, and contributing to menu design with a sustainability-first mindset, reflecting our values and mission.
Key Responsibilities
· Menu & Food Prep: Collaborate in designing and preparing daily/weekly menus using predominantly fresh, on-farm organic ingredients.
· Kitchen Management: Oversee kitchen prep and operations, including staff scheduling, cleanliness, and organization.
· Team Supervision & Training: Directly supervise, mentor, and train kitchen personnel to maintain culinary standards and operational efficiency.
· Inventory & Supply Management: Coordinate with internal farm production and external suppliers to ensure timely stocking and minimal waste.
· Culinary Innovation: Develop creative, high-quality meals aligned with sustainable practices; assist in planning event menus and catering setups.
· Systems & Standards: Implement and maintain systems for kitchen organization and food preparation in line with health, hygiene, and sustainability guidelines.
· Quality Assurance: Monitor food presentation and taste, maintaining excellence in dining outcomes.
· Event Support: Support farm events, contributing to menu planning and execution.
Requirements
· Experience: Minimum of 3–4 years in professional kitchen environments, preferably in organic, farm-to-table, or sustainable cuisine contexts.
· Certifications: Chef apprenticeship or culinary arts certification is a plus.
· Passion & Vision: Deep commitment to health, sustainability, and working with organic, seasonal ingredients.
· Organizational & Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to coordinate staff, manage inventory, and work collaboratively.
· Creativity: Flair for creating engaging, farm-focused menu items that inspire and delight.
· Language & Communication: Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic or other languages is a plus.
· Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to varied shifts—including weekends and events—to support the farm’s dynamic schedule.
