Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef/Lead Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist the Executive Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. This role requires strong leadership skills, creativity in menu planning, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Duties

  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of meals according to established recipes and standards.
  • Oversee kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure optimal performance.
  • Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef in menu planning, incorporating seasonal ingredients and catering options.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling practices.
  • Monitor food quality and presentation, making adjustments as necessary to meet guest expectations.
  • Assist in managing the dietary department for special dietary needs and preferences.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and work areas.
  • Participate in staff meetings to discuss menu changes, inventory needs, and operational improvements.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef/Lead Line Cook or in a similar role within the food industry.
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food handling, and safety regulations.
  • Experience in inventory management and control processes.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams.
  • A passion for hospitality and commitment to delivering high-quality dining experiences.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience is preferred but not mandatory.
