Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled South Indian Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in South Indian cuisine, food preparation, and kitchen operations. Responsibilities
- Prepare traditional South Indian dishes with authentic flavors and presentation standards
- Plan and execute daily menu items in accordance with dietary guidelines and customer preferences
- Ensure all food preparation meets safety and sanitation standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
- Assist with food plating, garnishing, and presentation for both dine-in and catering services
- Manage inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as needed
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during peak hours
- Adhere to food safety protocols, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of traditional dishes while maintaining quality
Requirements
- Proven experience in South Indian cuisine, with a strong focus on authentic recipes
- Background in food industry roles such as culinary aide, kitchen staff, or restaurant cook preferred
- Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation, and meal assembly techniques
- Experience in fine dining or catering environments is advantageous
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various cooking methods specific to South Indian dishes
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and proper food handling practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining high-quality standards
- Culinary experience with a focus on traditional South Indian ingredients and cooking techniques is essential
- Prior experience in the food service or restaurant industry is highly desirable
