YOU: We are looking for an enthusiastic and polished individual to join the Spa team at our 115 room Iconic Luxury Boutique Hotel. The Spa Concierge is responsible for providing an exceptional guest experience by providing personalized, attentive service from the moment the guest arrives until after their departure. This individual serves as the first point of contact for all guests, ensuring seamless interactions, accurate bookings, addressing guest requests and delivering exceptional service. The Spa Concierge plays a vital role in upholding the high standards and reputation of The Spa at La Valencia, ensuring each guest feels welcomed, valued, and cared for throughout their spa visit. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a strong team-player attitude. This role is performed in a luxury resort spa environment. Day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required, based on the hotel’s guest demand. Ideal candidates are highly motivated, thrive in a fast-paced team environment, and have a passion for hospitality.

JOB OVERVIEW:

Guest Services and Communication:

  • Acknowledge and greet everyone who enters and leaves the spa
  • Actively promote the Spa, treatments, services, sessions and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available
  • Provide detailed descriptions of spa treatments, packages, services, facility features and hours of operation
  • Answer the phone promptly and use the Guest name throughout the phone conversation
  • Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by Guests ensuring complete Guest satisfaction
  • Handle Guests questions and concerns professionally and courteously
  • Maintain eye contact when addressing external and internal Guests
  • Accurately book, change, and cancel spa appointments

Operational Duties:

  • Be on time for your shift and promptly open and close Spa each day according to Standard Operating Procedures
  • Maintain a Spa Desk Cash Drawer, handling cash and credit transactions with accuracy, adhering to financial protocols
  • Utilize spa computers with skill and proficiency, managing appointments, guest records, process transactions efficiently, and maintain guest confidentiality
  • Stock and refresh guest locker rooms, lounge, and outdoor relaxation areas
  • Maintain a clean, safe, fully stocked and well-organized work area

Team Collaboration:

  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment
  • Regularly attend, participate in, and support training and staff meetings for the Spa
  • Assist in all areas of spa operation or other areas as requested by Management

Professionalism:

  • Ability to work without direct supervision and remain at assigned post for extended periods of time
  • Maintain professionalism in appearance, demeanor, and communication, ensuring respectful interactions with guests and team members at all times

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Spa and wellness certifications are a plus.

Experience: Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or within a spa or wellness center, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort setting. Retail sales is a plus.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrate the ability to interact positively with guests, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel and the Spa
  • Enjoy working with people, be a team player, and possess a friendly and outgoing personality
  • Detail oriented and ability to multi-task while being efficient/ productive in a fast-paced environment
  • Computer skills including experience with Spa software Book4Time a plus.
  • Basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages and variances are utilized frequently
  • Strong problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities
  • May be required to work days, evening, weekends, and/or holidays as business levels see fit
  • Ability to walk and move about the facility for extensive period of time, bending, stooping and kneeling and carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Promote safety awareness and practice safe work
  • Support and comply with hotel policies and procedures

This position requires a high level of energy, enthusiasm, motivation, organization and leadership. A consistent display of professionalism and sincerity towards Guests and Staff is required. This position is paramount to the Hotel’s success.

Pay: $20.00 per hour, plus ability to earn retail incentive
