Position Overview

The Spa Director is a strategic, service-driven leader responsible for overseeing all daily operations, guest experiences, financial performance, and team management within the Spa at Amrit Ocean Resort & Residences. This role plays a key part in executing the resort’s personalized wellness philosophy—uniting Eastern principles with Western luxury—by ensuring that every spa touchpoint reflects Amrit’s elevated standards of care, mindfulness, and hospitality.
The Spa Director collaborates closely with the Executive Director of Wellness & Spa to implement long-term wellness strategies, introduce innovative programming, and maintain seamless alignment between spa operations and the broader Wellness Institute offerings.


Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Oversee the daily operations of the spa, including treatment rooms, reception, retail, locker areas, wet facilities, and wellness programming.

  • Ensure all services, protocols, and guest interactions consistently meet Amrit’s luxury service standards.

  • Develop and maintain high-functioning operational systems to maximize efficiency, organization, and guest satisfaction.

  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and licensing regulations.

Team Management & Development

  • Recruit, train, and mentor a world-class team of therapists, estheticians, attendants, and front desk personnel.

  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching to support professional growth and exceptional service delivery.

  • Cultivate a culture of wellness, teamwork, and excellence aligned with the resort’s mission and values.

Guest Experience & Service Excellence

  • Uphold a guest-first philosophy, ensuring every experience is personalized, restorative, and immersive.

  • Address guest feedback promptly and effectively, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to evolve the spa menu, treatment offerings, and signature experiences.

Financial Management

  • Manage the spa’s operating budget, including forecasting, revenue planning, and cost control.

  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including revenue per treatment, therapist productivity, retail sales, and profitability.

  • Drive retail performance through thoughtful merchandising, staff education, and guest engagement.

  • Lead initiatives to increase revenue through membership programs, promotions, partnerships, and curated wellness experiences.

Programming & Innovation

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director of Wellness & Spa to design and implement unique wellness programs, workshops, seasonal campaigns, and retreats.

  • Maintain awareness of industry trends, new modalities, product innovations, and luxury spa best practices to keep Amrit at the forefront of wellness hospitality.

Collaboration & Cross-Department Alignment

  • Work in partnership with other departments—including Fitness, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Marketing, and Residences—to create seamless guest journeys.

  • Support marketing initiatives by providing content, participating in promotional activities, and ensuring spa offerings are accurately represented across platforms.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Spa/Wellness Management, or related field preferred.

  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in luxury spa or wellness environments, ideally within a resort or destination wellness setting.

  • Strong financial acumen with a track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.

  • Exceptional leadership, coaching, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of spa software, scheduling systems, and POS technology.

  • Deep understanding of holistic wellness concepts, spa operations, and luxury guest service principles.
