Who we are:
EOI Space specializes in developing and deploying a network of satellites in Very Low Earth Orbit (VLEO) to provide ultra-high-resolution Earth imagery. We aim to deliver timely and actionable data for commercial and defense applications.
We are on our way to achieving many industry firsts. This demands an ambitious team that revels in leaning into challenges, getting hands-on, and working together. Does this sound like you? EOI Space is looking for a Spacecraft Systems Engineer with strong technical expertise and a demonstrated background in spacecraft or subsystem development to help drive the design, integration, and testing of EOI’s satellites.
What you will do:
The Spacecraft Systems Engineer will support the development and verification of the spacecraft system architecture, with particular emphasis on cross-subsystem integration performance. This role involves technical execution across design, modeling and simulation, integration, and test phases, working closely with subsystem leads, test engineers, and program management to ensure cohesive spacecraft development.
Responsibilities:
Support definition and evolution of the spacecraft system architecture, including subsystem interfaces, performance budgets, and trade studies
Develop and maintain system-level requirements, allocations, and verification planning across the satellite lifecycle
Perform and document system-level analyses (e.g., power, thermal, link, mass, data)
Support coordination between subsystem leads, program management, and manufacturing teams to ensure technical alignment and system integrity
Develop and contribute to Interface Control Documents (ICDs), CONOPS, and other system-level documentation
Develop and execute mission analysis and simulation tools, such as day-in-the-life simulations
Assist with system integration and environmental testing activities, including test plan creation, procedure development, and test execution
Participate in mission assurance and launch integration efforts
Identify technical risks and contribute to mitigation planning
Provide hands-on support during integration and troubleshooting of spacecraft hardware and software
Required Qualifications:
B.S. or M.S. in Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
3–10 years of relevant engineering experience, including spacecraft or subsystem development
Expertise in at least one spacecraft subsystem (e.g., power, ADCS, thermal, propulsion, communications) and familiarity with system-level integration
Experience with modeling and analysis tools such as Python, STK, or MATLAB
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative approach to technical challenges
Experience with spacecraft development, integration, and testing processes
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively across teams
Startup or small-team experience is preferred.
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $120,000-$180,000 per year, depending on previous experience. Pay ranges are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual pay will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: interviews and an assessment of several factors that are unique to each candidate, job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and internal equity.
Work Location:
This role is based in Louisville, CO.
