- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using tools like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices
- Monitor and record vital signs, medical documentation, and patient progress using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper techniques and adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or memory care needs, including behavioral health support
- Collaborate with healthcare teams in acute care, ICU, emergency medicine, and post-acute settings to deliver comprehensive patient service
- Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures like catheter care and phlebotomy to prevent infections and ensure safety
- Assist with patient transfers and positioning using Hoyer lifts or other equipment while adhering to safety protocols
- Support patients with developmental disabilities or behavioral health challenges in both inpatient and outpatient environments
- Document all patient interactions accurately within EMR/EHR systems and ensure compliance with medical records standards
Skills
- Fluent in Spanish with excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with diverse patient populations
- Proven experience working in various healthcare settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care environments
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and basic life support (BLS) procedures
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems including Cerner and eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation
- Experience in caring for seniors, pediatrics, or individuals with disabilities; including dementia and Alzheimer’s care
- Ability to perform phlebotomy procedures and manage infection control practices using aseptic techniques
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality at all times
- Skilled in vital signs measurement, medication administration, catheter care, and medical-surgical procedures
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure in fast-paced environments such as Level I trauma centers or urgent care clinics
