Homeland Language Services is seeking experienced Spanish Interpreters to support ongoing federal law enforcement operations across the United States. Interpreters will play a critical role in live monitoring, transcription, translation, and interpretation of sensitive communications in support of national investigations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consecutive and/or simultaneous interpretation from Spanish to English and vice versa.
- Transcribe audio and written communications with high accuracy and clarity.
- Translate and summarize communications to support law enforcement investigations.
- Attend legal briefings (e.g., Title III minimization) and prepare evidence documentation as needed.
- Maintain regular updates with program managers regarding shift availability and assignments.
- Assist with additional language support tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional interpreting or translating experience in legal or law enforcement settings.
- Strong command of both English and Spanish, including the ability to understand slang and colloquial expressions.
- Willingness to work on flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
Preferred:
- Prior experience in Title III wiretap or law enforcement-related projects.
- Familiarity with systems such as JSI VoiceBox or Pen-Link Intercept software.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments and handle sensitive information with discretion.
