Job Description

We are seeking a native Spanish-speaking tutor to work in-home with a 5th grade student in Austell, GA (30106) who recently enrolled in an English-speaking school but currently only speaks Spanish.

The primary goal of this role is to help the student understand and complete elementary math concepts while bridging the language gap. The tutor will explain math material in Spanish while gradually helping the student become comfortable with the English terminology used in school.

This student would benefit from a patient, encouraging tutor who can break down math concepts clearly and support confidence as they adjust to learning in a new language environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide support with elementary math through 5th grade (potentially early 6th grade concepts)
• Explain math concepts in Spanish while helping connect them to English classroom terminology
• Assist with homework, practice problems, and foundational math skills
• Build the student’s confidence in math while adjusting to an English-speaking school environment
• Create a supportive, positive learning environment

Qualifications

• Native Spanish speaker required
• Comfortable assisting with all elementary math through 5th grade
• Experience working with elementary-aged students
• Patient, supportive, and able to explain concepts clearly
• Reliable and punctual

About the Role

This is an independent contractor position with minimal paperwork, online time submission, and twice-monthly pay. Once onboarded, tutors may also be contacted about additional tutoring opportunities based on availability and subject expertise.
